Sweeney Todd and the String of Pearls

Did you know Mr Lovett was the first pie? Or that the original Sweeney Todd, from the penny dreadfuls, was centred around the romance of Mark Ingestrie and Joanna Oakley?

In this exciting new adaptation by Lucia Beretta, Stage Ready transports you to the affluent City of London in 1785, as the lawyers of Temple Bar feast at Mrs. Lovett’s notorious pie shop before wandering down Fleet Street to Todd’s, where he’s all too happy to lighten their pockets and polish ‘em off.
